Rockwall/Dallas, Texas - Nov 1st to Nov 7th, 2009
After having introduced her Illinois roots to me Sue invited me to her Texas life. Both of us had been anticipating this for a rather long time. Originally, this visit had been planned to take place in 2008 already. But Herbert's health conditions turned out to be far too scary to have me travel, so Sue and I finally agreed to postpone it. Herbert passed away just a few days ahead of the time my visit would have taken place. However, sharing very emotional times, on both sides, has bound us together.
Unusually grand days do fall in place. At times when the term "friend" is used in a more than inflationary way it is a blessing to know somebody like Sue to be in one's life. A warm-hearted, generous, humourous, loyal friend - and mentor.
My lovely hosts in Rockwall/Texas and beyond - Sue and Mark
We were blessed with sunshine and warm weather, too (enabling us to take breakfast on the deck facing the lake) - even for Texans something quite unusual to happen at the beginning of November

Jazz Concert in the Museum of Art, Dallas
We attended a performance of Verdi's "Otello" in the brandnew "Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House" in Dallas which had been opened just two or three weeks before. Truly fascinating architecture! And a wonderful time to remember...
Thank you, dear readers, for joining me in spirit!
Until soon again,
